Planning
The success of your event depends primarily on pre-planning; our staff will help all of your planning needs. We are happy to assist you throughout the planning process including: soliciting lodging and venue proposals, entertainment opportunities, itineraries, and visits to local attractions and site visits. We are here to ensure the best experience for you and your guests.
Lodging and Venue Selection
Let our experienced staff help you with lodging or venue selection. Tuscaloosa offers over 2700 hotel rooms and many venues that can accommodate a group of 2 or 2,000.
Brochures
The TCVB will provide your special event attendees with a visitors guide and map, which includes a complete list of area attractions, restaurants, entertainments and general information about the area. Specific brochures or information can be included upon request.
Group & Family Activities
Groups and families can enjoy many different tours and activities while visiting Tuscaloosa. The TCVB can assist you in planning half-day tours or a full-day excursions. Our staff can plan a customized group tour upon request.
Our Staff
Robert Ratliff, TMP, is the Executive Director of the Tuscaloosa Convention and Visitors Bureau. He has served in that position since 1999. Active on many tourism related organizations. He runs the Bureau's owned and operated FM station ,Welcome 103.3 on top of his many other duties.
Lynette Thomas-Rice is the Director of Multicultural Tourism and Group Tours. Lynette is responsible for the family reunion market and bringing groups to Tuscaloosa for educational and leisure travel purposes.
Beakie Powell is the Director of Meetings and Conventions. Beakie brings business and professional meetings, assists meeting planners and coordinates events for the Bureau.
Stephanie Roberts is the Director of Sports Marketing and Public Relations. Stephanie helps bring sporting events to the area and is responsible for informing the media of the latest TCVB news and events.
The Tuscaloosa Convention and Visitors Bureau is the only CVB in the state that owns a radio station. Be sure to set your radio dial to Welcome 103.3 LPFM to hear about community events, Tuscaloosa history briefs, and road and weather conditions.
