| Nelson B. Jones Riverbend Lodge Moundville Archaeological Park, one of America's great treasures and an international signicant National Landmark. The park includes the Jones Archaeological Museum and the Nelson B. Jones Riverbend Lodge, a spacious and comfortable facility that can be the perfect setting for your special occasion. The building itself can accommodate 100 guests at a time for a seated meal, or 150 for a standing reception. Guest can enjoy a beautiful view of the river from the adjoining patio. Moundville Archaeological Park offers a picturesque and private setting for your event. Your guests are also welcome to visit the Museum during its regular hours and to explore the Douglass Nature Trail and the rest of the park. For additional fees, park staff will design a custom themed program for your special event. For example, begin your evening at sunset, as the spetacular mounds cast long shadows across the great plaza. After enjoying hors d'oeuvres in the Museum, stroll down the boardwalk trail lit with over a hundred torches and featuring the beautiful sounds of a Creek rivercane flutist. Following dinner in the Riverbend Lodge, enjoy a lively dance performance and a bonfire atop the bluffs of the Black Warrior River. Other options are available. Please ask for details. The Nelson B. | Smith Hall Smith Hall is located on the northeast corner of the University of Alabama' scentral Quadrangle. Completed in 1910, SMith Hall is an elegant example of Beaux-Arts architecture. The Grand Gallery combines the monumental scale established by its two-story Corinthian colonade with the engaging detail of a geometric motif repeated in its balustrades, doors, windows, and vaulted skylight. The beautifull propertioned room offers more than 2,300 sq. feet of meeting and convention space to accommodate groups of up to 250 for standing recptions or 120 for seated meals. Beyond the colonnade, the walls of the gallery feature exhibits from the permanent collection of the Alabama Museum of Natural History. The curving marble staircase to the Grand Gallery leads from the foyer of Smith Hall, which can accommodate a pre-function gathering or registration for your conference event. The Grand Gallery features an adjacent warming kitchen for your cater's use and offers serving tables, dining tables and chairs. Ample parking is available in front of the building.
